This is a healthier version of the popular snack mixes. It contains no MSG or other preservatives. Since most corn is genetically modified, try to get organic popcorn from the health food store.

Southwestern Snack Mix

Ingredients:

6 - 8 cups popped popcorn
6 cups baked cheddar whole grain crackers (such as T.L.C. brand made by Kashi)
2 cups pretzel sticks
2 tablespoons organic butter, melted
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

optional additions:

Tamari seasoned pumpkin seeds
Salted peanuts

Instructions:

Put popcorn, baked cheddar crackers and pretzels in a large bowl with a lid.  Put melted margarine in a separate bowl. Add chili powder, cumin and garlic powder and blend together.  Pour over popcorn mixture.  Cover bowl and toss to coat.  Sprinkle cheese on top.  Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.  Put popcorn mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes.  Remove from oven and cool.  Place in airtight bowl to store.
